Exquisine -- Our new favorite restaurant in Seoul?

Contrary to its arguably non-assuming interior, Exquisine's food was anything but ordinary. With strong elements of Korean-fusion based dishes, expertly crafted by what seemed to be only two employees in the entire establishment, Exquisine impressed at every turn.

Rather than a "white-table cloth" luxurious feel, Exquisine lends itself to be an approachable lunch or dinner spot perfect for non-occasions. With casual staff that speak excellent English, the restaurant furthers its approachability. At 55 for lunch and 135 for dinner, Exquisine's lunch feels like a steal deal.

Balance. From the trio of opening "snacks" to the succulent main to the refreshing desserts, Exquisine nailed them all. The "kimbap" à la beef tartare snack was a personal favorite, but the crispy fish with chipotle ketchup was also show stopping. Unlike many of its kind, Exquisine did not disappoint with the main. Juicy chicken with crispy skin, met with carrots served in multiple ways (smoked, pureed, and baked), composed a heavenly dish. Given my affinity for desserts, if I were to request one change, it would be to be slightly more "exotic" with their dessert options. A classically made tarte serves its purpose, but I can't help myself from asking for more!
